Mom always said keep it clean!!!!

Pulled out my 100lb sandbag the other day while i was getting ready for our womens only boot camps and banged out some cleans.

Sandbag training is such a great full body workout!

It works your grip, legs, arms, back, and created explosivness!

You may say explosivness is great for athlets but it is also important for everyday activites!

Having the strength to pick up your kids, catch the dog, or shovel the driveway are all things that sandbag training can help with.

Remember getting strong can be simple!

Sometimes it just comes down to moving some weight!

Our world today is set up so we have so many things done for us, DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF AND IN THE PROCESS BUILD STRENGTH

Welcome to the Family!

i hope everyone here in the states had a great thanksgiving!!!!

I sure did! I spent the day at my in laws and had an amazing time! I just got married this last july so this was the first thanksgiving spent at my wife’s house.

I come from a small family and she comes from the complete opposite with 6 brothers and sisters and more unlces aunts and cousins then a can count!

The great thing about yesterday besides the food was that they welcomed me with open arms!!!

That got me thinking about YOU all my strength fans out there and how that is exactly what i want to do for you here at Real World Strength Coach i want to welcome you to our family with open arms!

No matter what you are here for i want you to feel a sense of family cause family is most important thing in my life and im sure it is in yours as well!

I wish eveyone a magical holiday season!!!!

Will Power….Do YOU HAVE IT?

There are so many people out there that want to change their lives, they want a better body, tighter stomach, firm butt and thighs.

They want to want to wear that 2 piece swim suit.

BUT they want it now and they want it quick they want to be able to take a pill and have the wieght like magic vanish.

Well that’s not reality and even if there is some magic pill out there what are the side effects what wil he chemicals do to you long term?

I am here to help people gain back their self confidence and get the body they want the old fashion way, the way God and nature intended through HARD WORK!

I will make this hard work fun and challenging for YOU but all i ask in return is for you to have the will power to see it through, to have the will power to make the change for yourselves.

When i say will power I mean WILL POWER that means not stoping at McDonalds in the morning cause you are running late. The Will Power i am talking about means you would have got up early so you would have time to make and eat a healthy breakfast.

I mean the kind of Will Power where when it’s below freezing outside you still show up to your BOOT CAMP workout!

This past weekend i saw some of this will power first hand it it made me know deep down inside that what  i am doing here cam really change some people’s lives. I was so proud of these two ladies who showed up in 28 degree weather and were like ROCKSTARS and rocked right through their workout.

LET ME TELL YOU I AM THEIR BIGGEST FANS!!!!!!!

 

It took Will Power to show up in this weather but they are ready for a change and also ready to work for it.

If you show me the WILL POWER IPROMISE I WILL SHOW YOU THE NEW YOU!

Is it too cold out for you to get in shape?

Hey strength fans it is another great day here at The Real World Strength Coach!

It was about 32 degrees this morning when we headed outside for our mornng workout!

Let me tell you about a minute into our wam up Ana didnt  even think about the cold here heart rate was up her blood was pumping and she was getting fired up and into STRENGTH building mode!

Lets just say for someone who say’s they hate the cold Ana CRUSHED her workout today take a look at a small part of her full body circuit 

 

 

When I told you that our program will get you strong I MEANT STRONG!

Ana could barely budge that tire a few weeks ago now she is doing reps in a circuit I would say that is some progress!

How to Have Fun on a Rainy Day?

Well it was another miserable day her in the city of brotherly love but i am still riding high after the Phillies World Series Win so nothing can bring me down!

So i headed out in the rain and threw some sandbags on my tire sled and got to work!

A few of these citcuits and the legs are really burning and the heart is jumping.

This workout is nothing crazy but it will build crazy work capacity and endurance as well as firm up those legs of yours.
So what do you do for fun when it rains?

A rainy day is like some many other things in life that can get you down r get in your way….IF YOU LET THEM.

The key word here is IF and most people i know do let these things get in their way or letthm stop them from accomplishing a goal or task that they may have had planned.

Not here at the Real World Strength Coach!!!

You have to be strong in the mind as well as the body!

The world will through you a lot of trash along the way it up to you to recycle it and make it into something that works for you!

10 things I am Thankful For!

As thanksgiving is near I have been thinking how thankful I am for my Wife, Family, my close friends, and being able to live a healthy life.

But I also am very very thankful for the opportunity to help people.

When I think of all the people that I have helped in the past and then think about all the people that I have been given the chance to help in the future I truely am thankful and grateful.

I would love to hear what everyone out there is thankful for so please post your comments and lets talk about all the great things that we have in our lives.

Those of you that are out there that only think about the negative side of their lives i urge you to focus on the positve no matter how bad you have it or how hard you think your life is at the moment there is someone out there who has it worse.

I know that it can seem hard at times but IT WILL GET BETTER IF YOU LET IT.

I say I know because(this is the first time I am going to talk about this) a few years ago I almost died!

This is something that’s hard to talk about but I thought that it was something that I needed to share with all of my follwers out there as I am asking them to stand up and take charge of their livesso i wanted everyone to know that i was down and almost out but I took charge and made a change.

I was in a terrible car accident where i hit a telephone pole head on!

When i woke up I was unsure of what happened and where i was.

The doctor told me I may never walk again and they were not sure if i was going to keep my one leg.

I was devastated!!!!!

Through God’s graces they saved my leg!

BUT the next 3 years of my life were just short of HELL. I was confined to a hospital bed in my home for a few months then moved to a wheel chair. I went through 6 or 7 more operations I had all kinds of rods, plates, and screws put in both my legs then taken out. They left my legs so badly scared that I didnt even like to look at them.

Over the course of this time I fell into a great depression and of course lost any strength that i had and gained a considerable amount of weight, which added to my loss of self confidence.

So once I was able to walk again I thought it would be a great idea to drink more and more to forget about what I had put myself and my family through, not a good idea at all as not only did it not help deal with my thougths but I also gained more weight and now was in the worst shape of my life.

Something needed to change!

So I decided that I was going to get off my butt and stop feeling sorry for myself and take action.

The action that I took was nothing crazy, I just started doing little things(real world things) a few times a day that would get my heart rate up and get my butt moving.

I more or less started to move weight even if it was just my body weight. I did as many squats, lunges, push ups as i could. I lifted anything I could find water gallons(did you see the video of one of my clients with them) the grocery bags, stones, cases of beer(I quit drinking but my roomates still did), the dog what ever i could get my hands on but it was mostly body weight exercises.

I was surprised to see how effective these exercises were as I always used to lift in one of those BIG NAME GYMS it was a long hard road don’t get me wrong but I was finding out that working out didnt have to be all about LIFTING BIG WEIGHTS or RUNNING ALL DAY ON THE TREADMILL. I found out that you can get STRONG and I mean REALLY STRONG buy doing simple everyday movements.

My mom said to me Dave you are starting to look really good doing all these real world lifts and I had a lightbulb over my head, and Real World Strength was born.

I knew I had started something special when people were asking me “what are you doing” and saying “you look great” “whats your secret” and my answer was always nothing really just some old school stuff around the house no gym or fancy equipment.

My self confidence was up, my energy was through the roof, and I was finally out of my funk. The feelings that I was enjoying were such a turn around from where I had been a few months ago I knew that I had to try pass this amazing feeling to other people.

So I learned as much as I could, study, tried out new things some worked some didnt, got certified by MR. Underground himself Zach Even Esh and here we are today.

I am in the best shape of my life, yes better than before the accident, I am helping people reach their goals and improve their lives, I love love love what I am doing, and I am going to be able to support my family doing it.

So back to the beginning I HAVE SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!!!!!!
1.The fact that im alive.
2.I have my leg.
3.I can walk.
4.I have a beautiful wife.
5.I have a family that stuck by me and loves me.
6.I get paid for doing something I love.
7.I made a come back from a deep and dark place.
8.I am able to share my story, which will hopefully inspire others.
9.I have the ability to help people reach their fitness goals.
10.I have the opportunity to spend my life trying to make a difference!

So those are the ten things i am thankful for.

Sorry I didnt start out writing this blog with the intention of telling my story but as I was thinking about what I was thankful for I just couldnt go on with out telling that story as it is how i got to where im at today.

If my story can help just one person than I am glad that I told it.

Are you getting Stronger?

Ana sure is she is making awesome gains in strength and confidence!

She told me that the other day at work 5 differnet  people asked her what she was doing?

They told her how great she looked! How she was looking tone! How they wanted to do waht she was doing!

There Grrrrreeeeeaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!

Well thats not actually what she said!

But they are a great full body workout, and talk about progress 14 day ago Ana could not do a correct pushup and she is wheelbarrow walking, with push ups.

That’s what i call building Strength!

 

 

What kind of gains do you make at your gym in 2 weeks?

Meet my Meat Man Mr. 96%

Being real world strong is not just about working out and getting the proper exercise its also about feeding your body the right foods to help your new muscle grow big and strong.

I know that lot of you out there are sick of chicken and turkey well let me tell you that you should be eating red meat anyway.

You just have to find the lean cuts!

Now most grocery stores dont have the lean cuts out cause they dont sell, but if you become friendly with your meat man or woman they will take car of you!

So i thought i would introduce you strength fans out there to my meat guy Big Bill( You the Man Bill) he always take great care of me when i go into the supermarket i stand and talk with him for a few seconds out of my day and i think it brings alittle joy into both our lives PLUS HE gets the good stuff for me.


So todays leason is just talk to your pervayers and make friends and it will go along way to bring a smile to someones face as well as helping you eat better for that REAL WORLD STRENGTH.
